'Tel-Avivi' City Portrait
Street Photography Album by Ido Biran
I'm a street photographer, working mainly in Tel Aviv. Most of all I just like to walk around the streets and take pictures. I work as a photographer for urban companies (Tel-O-fan, Atarim, NETA and more), curate and produce exhibitions related to Tel-Aviv, and have a line of products based on my photographs (postcards, magnets, posters etc.).
'Tel-Avivi' project is an urban portrait, which documents the city, its people, street art, architecture, the beach scene, street signs and more. When I started capturing the city, I didn’t take pictures with a particular purpose in mind or with any planning. I did it mainly because it made me feel good to be outdoors and to be around people. After a while I decided to create a city portrait of this wonderful, vibrant place and call it 'Tel-Avivi'.
I took pictures on sunny summer days and rainy winter days. I photographed mainly on the street but also from rooftops, skyscrapers, the sea and while commuting on public transportation. I shared the pictures on the social networks, and today the number of followers has grown to over 22,000.
After 4 years (2014-2018) and hundreds of hours of wandering around in Tel-Aviv, nowadays I'm dreaming of publishing a photography book on Tel Aviv to make the photos alive and accessible to people outside the virtual world. This book is for Tel Aviv lovers, lovers of still photography and lovers in general. It contains dozens of unique moments and inspires a warm and loving look at the city and its residents.
